1. Nithik Balachandaran – Nithik is our online student from Atlanta. He played in K-5 U800 Section and won 6.5 points out of 7. He was tied for the FIRST place. On the Tie-Break he got FOURTH Place.
2. Gokul Premkumar our online student from Atlanta who won K-3 U600. Gokul won the FIRST place in this Section.

Our Chess players had more trophies to add on Sunday at Alabama State Scholastic Chess INDIVIDUAL
Championships. We WON 15 trophies on Sunday in addition to 8 Team Trophies on Saturday, so all together we won 23 trophies this weekend which is JUST AMAZING. This Championship is ONE of the BEST tournaments for ChessKidsNation players. In K-12 Under 1000 section we won all the top five place trophies which are a record for us. CONGRATS to all our players and winners.

June 11, 2017 Based on Vikhram Balagee’s performance at the Alabama State Scholastic Chess Championship and subsequent playoff today(6/11/2017), he is nominated to represent the State of Alabama at the Denker Tournament (http://www.denkerchess.com/ ) of High School Champions to be held July 29 – August 1 during the 2017 US Open in Norfolk, VA. This is a prestigious tournament in which one nominee from each state competes for national honors. We are extremely proud of Vikhram and his achievement. We are sure he will do his BEST and represent our Great State of Alabama.

ChessKidsNation Chess Players had an Amazing and Outstanding performance at Alabama Scholastic Chess Championships at University of Montevallo on Saturday (March 15, 2014) and Sunday (March 16, 2014). 34 players from ChessKidsNation played in this tournament. Congratulations to all our players and special thanks to all the parents who made this event a GREAT SUCCESS. Our Players really worked very hard for the past several months and in particular last two weeks attending their daily practice sessions.
Our Special Congratulations to Samson Sands for winning the Co-Championship in Junior High (K-8) Section in Individual Championship. The City of Raleigh hosted the 2014 NC K-12 Chess Championship March 1-2. This was the 40th anniversary event and was held at the Raleigh Convention Center, 500 S Salisbury St, Raleigh, NC 27601-2114, right in the heart of our capital city. They had over 640 players registered.
Savitra Kulkarni from Metrolina Regional Scholars’ Academy finished as the 2nd runner up in “K-8 U1400 Individual” category. He scored 5.5 points out of 7.
