2014 National Junior High Championship – April 2014

We are very happy to announce the following National Championship winners at the 2014 National Junior High Championship held at Atlanta from April 25-27, 2014.

  • Riley Smith 6th Grader from Birmingham, Alabama scored 6 points out of 7 games tied for 3rd place and got 8th place Trophy in K-9 Under 1000 section. Riley gained 225 points in this tournament. 231 players played in this section.
  • Hemachandra Rambha 2nd grader from Nashville, Tennessee scored 5.5 points out of 7 games tied for 3rd place and got 14th place Trophy in K-9 Under 1250 section. Hemi gained 56 rating points in this tournament. Hemi was the TOP 2nd grader in the country among all 2nd graders participated in this section. 212 players in this section.
  • Vikram Ruppa 8th grader from Atlanta, Georgia scored 5 points out of 7 games tied for 4th place and got 29th place in K-9 Under 1250 section. Vikram gained 67 rating points in this tournament. 212 players in this section.

1. Nithik Balachandaran – Nithik is our online student from Atlanta. He played in K-5 U800 Section and won 6.5 points out of 7. He was tied for the FIRST place. On the Tie-Break he got FOURTH Place.
2. Gokul Premkumar our online student from Atlanta who won K-3 U600. Gokul won the FIRST place in this Section.

June 11, 2017 Based on Vikhram Balagee’s performance at the Alabama State Scholastic Chess Championship and subsequent playoff today(6/11/2017), he is nominated to represent the State of Alabama at the Denker Tournament (http://www.denkerchess.com/ ) of High School Champions to be held July 29 – August 1 during the 2017 US Open in Norfolk, VA. This is a prestigious tournament in which one nominee from each state competes for national honors. We are extremely proud of Vikhram and his achievement. We are sure he will do his BEST and represent our Great State of Alabama.

ChessKidsNation Chess Players had an Amazing and Outstanding performance at Alabama Scholastic Chess Championships at University of Montevallo on Saturday (March 15, 2014) and Sunday (March 16, 2014). 34 players from ChessKidsNation played in this tournament. Our Players really worked very hard for the past several months and in particular last two weeks attending their daily practice sessions.

2014 North Calorina K-12 Chess Championship – March 2014 Savitra Kulkarni our online student from North Carolina won 2nd place in “K-8 U1400 Individual” Championship. Feb 2013 Super Bowl Chess tournament
  1. Sarvagna won first place trophy in the (K-5 Novice) section, winning all her 5 games
  2. Maxwell Wainwright won Third place.
  3. Manasa won 3rd place in K-6 rated section.
  4. Chess Kids Nation also won the first place team trophy
January 2013 MLK Chess Tournament – Alabama
  1. Kapil Nathan came FIRST in the K-5 Novice section with a PERFECT score winning all his games (5-0).
  2. Rahul came Third with 4 points,
  3. Sarvagna came 7th with 3.5 points and
  4. Eshika came 8th with 3 points.
  5. Our team also won the Team Championship in K-5 Novice section.
  6. Sameer Sultan came FIRST in K-8 section with a PERFECT score winning all his games, (5 -0).
MLK Chess Tournament – Atlanta Arul Selvakumar our online student won all the five games.

Year 2012

October 2012 Atlanta Scholastic Event Gokul – Is our online student from Atlanta finished 3rd place in the Scholastic event in his section. He won 4 out of his 5 games. Pranav Rajbhandari – Is our online student from Atlanta finished 3rd place in his section in the Scholastic event. He won 4 out of his 5 games. September 2012 Sijing Wu – Sijing is our student from Birmingham. He played in K-3 U800 Section and won 5.5 points out of 7. He got 24th place. Sijing Wu – Sijing is our student from Birmingham. March 2012

March 2012 Sullivan Chess tournament Namratha Mohan our online chess student from Wisconsin participated in Sullivan Chess tournament conducted by WSCF. She played in K-5 division, 6 rounds with 42 kids. She won all her 6 games and came 2nd in the tournament. She was also part of her school team and they finished in 3rd Place.

March 2012 – Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy Savitra Kulkarni one of our online student from North Carolina was part of his School Chess Team ‘Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy”. He played in “Third Team Tournament” held on April 28th. He won all his games he played and his school won the first place with 7.5 points. March 2012 Parkview Chess Tournament Namratha Mohan, our online chess student from Wisconsin, won 2nd place in Green Bay, WI. She won 5 out of 6 games.
