Tuscaloosa Scholastic Chess Championships – April 2014

ChessKidsNation Chess Players had a GREAT performance at Tuscaloosa Scholastic Chess Championships at Tuscaloosa on Saturday (April 12, 2014). 14 players from ChessKidsNation played in this tournament. Congratulations to all our players and special thanks to all the parents who made this event a GREAT SUCCESS.

Our Special Congratulations to Rishi Yellamraju for winning the K-3 section and Samson Sands for winning K-12 Section in Individual Championship. Both Samson and Rishi won 5 points each.

Open Section

  • Sijing Wu won Second Place with 2.5 points.

Reserve Section

  • Rochelle Wu was tied for Third place with 2.5 points.

Individual

  • K – 3 Primary Section
  • First Place – Rishi Yellamraju who won 5 points.
  • K – 12 Open Section
  • First Place – Samson Sands who won all his 5 games
  • Second Place – Colin Bamford who won 4 points
  • Third Place – Cesar Juarez who won 3 points

Team

  • K – 6 Elementary Section – ChessKidsNation Team won the First place (Krishin Yerabolu, Kapil Nathan, Aniteja Ponna, Riley Smith and Nikhita Chintareddy)
  • K – 12 Open Section – ChessKidsNation Team won the First Place (Samson Sands, Colin Bamford, Cesar Juarez, Luke Cai and Gregory Murray)

 

Central Alabama Team Scholastic Chess Tournament – September 2014

ChessKidsNation players won FIRST PLACE in K-3 section, FIRST PLACE and SECOND PLACE in K-12 section at Central Alabama Team Scholastic Chess Tournament today. We are very proud of all our players and Winners who worked very hard. We started this season on a good note. Very Proud of our team. AWESOME GUYS…Way to go….

K-3 – First Place – Rochelle Wu, Rishi Yellamraju, Raghav Madabushi, Allan Yuan – Team scored 14.5 points out of 16. GREAT Performance.

K-12 First Place – Sijing Wu, Samson Sands, Colin Bamford, Luke Cai – Team Scored 14 points out of 16.

K-12 Second Place – Rahul Boddupalli, Cesar Juarez, Prateek Yash Mishra, Joseph Jun – Team Scored 10 Points out of 16.rst Place – Sijing Wu, Samson Sands, Colin Bamford, Luke Cai – Team Scored 14 points out of 16.

 

 

2014 North Calorina K-12 Chess Championship – March 2014

Savitra Kulkarni our online student from North Carolina won 2nd place in “K-8 U1400 Individual” Championship. We are very proud of Savitra’s achievement. His rating points increased 241 points to 1269. Congratulations to Savitra and his proud parents Sandeep-Jyoti Kulkarni…. Please read below a note from them…

 

The City of Raleigh hosted the 2014 NC K-12 Chess Championship March 1-2. This was the 40th anniversary event and was held at the Raleigh Convention Center, 500 S Salisbury St, Raleigh, NC 27601-2114, right in the heart of our capital city. They had over 640 players registered.

Savitra Kulkarni from Metrolina Regional Scholars’ Academy finished as the 2nd runner up in “K-8 U1400 Individual” category. He scored 5.5 points out of 7.

MLK Chess Tournament – Alabama

  1. Kapil Nathan came FIRST in the K-5 Novice section with a PERFECT score winning all his games (5-0).
  2. Rahul came Third with 4 points,
  3. Sarvagna came 7th with 3.5 points and
  4. Eshika came 8th with 3 points.
  5. Our team also won the Team Championship in K-5 Novice section.
  6. Sameer Sultan came FIRST in K-8 section with a PERFECT score winning all his games, (5 -0).

Arul Selvakumar our online student won all the five games.

Gokul – Is our online student from Atlanta finished 3rd place in the Scholastic event in his section. He won 4 out of his 5 games.

March 2012 Sullivan Chess tournament

 

Namratha Mohan our online chess student from Wisconsin participated in Sullivan Chess tournament conducted by WSCF. She played in K-5 division, 6 rounds with 42 kids. She won all her 6 games and came 2nd in the tournament. She was also part of her school team and they finished in 3rd Place.

Savitra Kulkarni one of our online student from North Carolina was part of his School Chess Team ‘Metrolina Regional Scholars Academy”. He played in “Third Team Tournament” held on April 28th. He won all his games he played and his school won the first place with 7.5 points.

Namratha Mohan, our online chess student from Wisconsin, won 2nd place in Green Bay, WI. She won 5 out of 6 games.
